Supporting an Elderly Customer with Battery Storage

We were recently contacted by a very elderly customer who was looking to add battery storage to an existing solar system that had been installed several years earlier by another company.

The customer, approximately 78 years old, lives at the property with her mother, who is around 100 years old. As both residents are elderly and living independently, they were looking for a simple and reliable way to store solar energy generated during the day so it could be used later in the evening.

Prior to contacting us, the customer had reached out to several companies regarding the possibility of adding a battery to their existing solar system. Unfortunately, they had difficulty receiving responses or assistance.

After searching online, the customer came across our company through Google and spent time reading through our customer reviews. Based on the positive feedback from other clients, they decided to reach out to us for help.

Understanding their situation, we arranged a site visit to the property so we could properly assess the existing solar installation and explain the available battery options in person. As the residents were elderly, they preferred to discuss the technical aspects face-to-face rather than over the phone. During the visit, our team took the time to clearly explain how battery storage works, how it would integrate with their existing system, and the expected benefits.

We also provided a detailed quote and system explanation in person, ensuring they were comfortable with the recommendation and fully understood how the system would operate.

Recognising the age of the residents and the fact that they live alone, our team prioritised the project and arranged the installation earlier than the originally proposed date. Our goal was to complete the installation as quickly and smoothly as possible to provide them with greater comfort, reliability, and energy security.

After assessing the existing solar system, we recommended installing a Sigenergy hybrid inverter with Sigenergy Battery Energy Storage System, which could seamlessly integrate with their current solar setup.

System Installed:

  • 16 KW Sigenergy Battery + 5KW Sigenergy 3p Hybrid Inverter
  • Integration with the customer’s existing solar system

Location: Touchstone Dr, Dawesville,WA, 6211

Following installation and commissioning, the system was carefully tested to ensure it was operating correctly and charging from the existing solar system as designed.

The battery now allows the household to store excess solar production during the day and use it in the evening, reducing their reliance on grid electricity and providing greater energy reliability.

After the installation was completed, the customers expressed great appreciation for the support and patience shown by our team throughout the process. They were particularly grateful for the in-person explanations and the effort made to schedule the installation sooner than expected.

In fact, they were so pleased with the service that they went on to share their positive experience by leaving reviews, highlighting the professionalism, support, and care provided by our team.

Overall, this was a very rewarding project for us. Being able to assist elderly customers who genuinely needed guidance and support was just as important as delivering a high-quality solar and battery installation.

The system is now operating as expected and providing them with a simple, reliable, and efficient energy solution for their home.
