Smart Solar Planning for a Newly Purchased Property

Mr. Collin Green recently purchased the above property in Two Rocks. At the time of quotation and system design, the customer had not yet moved into the property and therefore did not have any historical Synergy electricity bills available for this address.

Under normal circumstances, we rely on the customer’s Synergy billing data to accurately determine the appropriate system size. However, in this case, the absence of historical consumption data presented a design challenge.

To ensure an accurate system recommendation, we adopted the following approach:

  • Reviewed and analysed the customer’s electricity bills from his previous residence as a consumption reference.
  • Discussed and factored in additional appliances and expected load increases for the new property.
  • Estimated projected day and night usage based on the above information.

Based on our assessment, we recommended the following system:

System Installed:

  • 14 × 475W LONGi Hi-MO X10 panels (Total 6.65kW)
  • 5kW Sungrow Hybrid Inverter
  • 19.2kWh Sungrow Battery System

Our projected night-time consumption was approximately 13kWh. However, the customer expressed interest in maximising the available Federal battery rebate and opted for a larger battery capacity. Considering the anticipated load profile and future energy independence goals, we supported the decision to proceed with the 19.2kWh battery system.

Following installation, we closely monitored system performance to ensure:

  • The battery was charging to full capacity where possible.
  • Grid dependency was minimised.
  • The system was operating as designed.

Post-installation follow-ups were conducted both immediately after commissioning and several months later. The customer has since reported electricity bills consistently below $100 per billing cycle and has expressed satisfaction with the recommended system size and battery capacity.

The system is performing in line with expectations and meeting the customer’s energy requirements effectively.
